Family News:

  1. After Cantonese Service, we will have our prayer meeting at 11:30am to 12:30pm. Today's theme is Caring the Global Missions. Please join us to pray for the world missions and for our church's needs.
  2. The annual Missions Conference will be held from Nov. 3 -12, 2023. Our theme is "Backyard Mission". English Mission Sunday is on today by Pastor Mark Buhler and Chinese Mission Sunday will be on Nov. 12 by Rev. Joe Li. We will have one workshop held in the downstairs Chapel on Friday Nov. 10 at 7:3pm (Topic: Removing the stress of Delivery). Please join us to learn more about the mission ministries around the world and the opportunities that surround us. For further details or questions, please contact the pastoral team.
  3. Deacon Election will be held in-person today. Active members can vote at church after worship service. Election will end at 1:00 p.m. Notice of the Deacon Election is posted on Bethel’s website, please visit the website (www.bethelmb.org) for details.
  4. Leader's Retreat will be held on Nov 11 (Sat), at 9am to 3pm in the church. We invite all deacons, department heads and members to join us to evaluate and plan our church ministry. Please feel free to contact the pastoral staffs for participation.
  5. Rev. Alice will be on leave on Nov. 9.
  6. The pastoral team received an resignation email from Vivian Su (Volunteer Pastoral Assistant) on September 17, effective on October 1 and support transition till Oct 31, 2023. We are thankful to have her faithfully and diligently work in the past.
  7. There will be hymns offering during the Sunday service on December 24. Brothers and sisters are welcome to participate in the hymn's practice. Practice dates: November 26, December 10 and 17, time: 11:30-12:30.
  8. There will also be Christmas caroling at Kingsway and Joyce Station on Dec 24 at 12:30 - 14:00. Brothers and sisters are welcome to join this outreach event. Please contact Joe Chan and Tina Yuen for inquiries and registration.
  9. Obituary: Sister Hau Mui, Wong, a member of our church, passed away peacefully in the nursing home on October 21, 2023. She rested in the arms of the Lord. The burial ceremony will be held at 1 pm on November 12 at Seaview Cemetery. May the Lord comfort the family.
  10. Finance Department Hiring: Bethel is looking for a self-employed bookkeeper with 1-2 years of working experience to provide our church with full-cycle bookkeeping services from home. Responsibilities include posting entries/Journal entries, preparing Government reports such as T4s/T4As, GST Rebate, WCB Annual Payroll Report, Bank Reconciliation, and Financial Statements/Reports, etc. Candidate must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience using QuickBooks and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Spreadsheets. Members of Bethel are preferred. The job start date will be January 1, 2024.
