  1. Theme 2024: "Walk with Jesus with actions and in truth"
    Theme verse: "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)
    Sub-theme for Summer (Jul-Sep): "Walk with Jesus, live out love"
    Sub-theme verse: "We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister." (1 John 4:19-21)
  2. Deacon Nomination/Election arrangement as follows:
    • The Board of Deacons resolved that the number of deacons in 2025 shall be seven. This year, there are a total of seven deacons. Benjamin Kaan will have served two consecutive terms by the end of this year (not eligible to be re-elected); Alvin Chong, Yi Jun Tan, Wallace So, and Ivy Sheir will have served their first term by the end of this year (eligible to be nominated); Roy Tang will finish serving the remaining term of the vacancy by the end of this year (eligible to be nominated). Therefore, there will be six openings next year.
    • The Deacon Nomination Committee has already met and nominated 20 brothers and sisters in accordance with Bethel’s Bylaws section 11, Acts 6:3 and 1 Timothy 3:1-13. The list of nominees is posted on the bulletin board. All the nominees are required to submit their reply by August 18, 2024.
    • Two active members together may nominate other active members by first submitting the names to the Deacon Nomination Committee, then a written consent must be signed by the nominee, and such nomination must then be submitted to the Deacon Nomination Committee no later than 12:00 noon on August 4, 2024.
    • Deacon Election will be held in-person on Sunday, September 22, 2024 by referendum.
  3. Cantonese Prayer Meeting will be held at 12:15 pm after CM Service in the sanctuary focusing on working congregations. Welcome all to join and pray for them and let us be a prayer-driven church.
  4. Baptism and Membership Transfer Ceremony will be held on Oct 13. If you want to participate, please contact your ministry pastor for Baptism and Membership course arrangement.
  5. There will be a series of training for ministry staff every Saturday night in August from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Members are welcome to sign up.
          1. Welcoming and reception training (Date: August 17)
          2. 5-minute personal evangelistic introduction training (Date: August 24)
          3. Visiting skills (Date: August 31)
    And there will be a zoom Worship workshop for the service leaders and songs leaders on August 8 (Thru) at 8:00 pm. For details, please contact Rev. Woo or go to the office front desk for registration.
  6. EM Summer Retreat will be held on July 26-28, and the English worship service on July 28 (Sunday) will take place @ 9:00 am at the retreat. You are welcome to join us through Zoom or physically at the retreat. The service will be recorded and available on our website by the evening. The Zoom link will be posted Saturday night (July 27th) on our church website (https://www.bethelmb.org/).
  7. Pastor Peter will be out of office on July 26-28 for EM Summer Retreat.
  8. Bethel Chinese School has appointed Pr. Angela Jung as its new principal. Pr. Angela has many years of teaching and pastoral experience, and the school is deeply grateful for this person. Pr. Angela will take up her new position in September.

    7–9月季題：「與主同行，活出愛心」

  2. 執事提名/選舉安排如下：
    • 執事會議決2025年度執事人數為七人。本屆執事共有七位，簡基業執事兩屆任期將於本年底屆滿(不能連任)，張漢忠執事、譚毅君執事、蘇錦棠執事和佘梁鈺瑛執事第一屆任期將於本年底屆滿(可再被提名為執事候選人)，鄧錦榮執事補選任期將於本年底屆滿(可再被提名為執事候選人)，故明年共有六個空缺。
    • 執事提名委員會已召開會議，並根據本堂章則第十一項，及使徒行傳6章3節和提摩太前書3章1-13節，提名20位執事候選人，該名單已張貼在佈告版上。被提名會友須於2024年8月18日前回覆是否接受提名。
    • 常到會友中如有兩位聯名推舉其他常到會友為執事候選人，必需先與執事提名委員會洽商，然後還須該候選人書面同意，之後提交執事提名委員會彙集，截止日期為2024年8月4日中午12時。
    • 執事選舉將於2024年9月22日(主日)以實體「全會友投票」方式舉行。
  3. 崇拜後下午12:15於禮堂有粵語祈禱會，為在職會眾祈禱，歡迎弟兄姊妹留步參加，踴躍為教會肢體守望禱告，讓頌主堂成為禱告的教會。
  4. 本年度浸禮及轉會禮將於10月13日舉行，如有肢體想參加，請聯絡傳道同工，以便安排浸禮及轉會課程。
