親愛的弟兄姊妹：

2025年過了3個月，牧師偶爾會聽到會眾表達不理解教會今年的主題重點和去年主題的關係。牧師在此不厭其煩的告訴大家，去年的主題「與主同行，踐行真道」，牧師希望把會眾的屬靈生命建立在真道的穩固磐石上，並靠神的力量踐行真道。教會嘗試透過推動禱伴計劃，祈禱會和主日學去幫助會眾在讀經和禱告上打好根基。而2025年的主題是「與主結連，生命更新」，牧師希望在真道的基礎上，會眾能建立美好的屬靈生命。教會盼望透過講台宣講的約翰福音，能幫助會眾在靈性上有更好的追求；也盼望透過使用讀經祈禱日誌，建立會眾恆常的讀經和禱告生活。同時，也祈盼在各項事工的參與上，會眾能一起經歷與主結連同工的喜樂和得力事奉。牧師深信，我們的生活和事奉從來都不是單打獨鬥的，因為有耶穌與聖靈，並弟兄姊妹與我們同工同行。今年我們會集中在「與主結連」上。明年，牧師計劃擴至與肢體的結連上，好叫我們成為一個身體，連於元首基督。至於今年教會的具體目標，牧師是希望能繼續在人數和奉獻上，有10%的增長。而牧師相信，當我們都緊緊的與主結連，我們必能為主多結果子。

很高興4月2日開始有新的半職兒童及家庭事工牧者簡樂恩傳道在我們中間一同服事。顧名思義，她的主要職責是兒童及家庭事工。盼望會眾能給予她更多的鼓勵和支持，好使她能早日適應頌主堂。也請為她多多的禱告，好讓教會的兒童及家庭事工得到興旺。另一件既開心又會帶來會眾不便的事是，廚房裝修工程將於4月21日啟動，盼望6月中能完工。屆時，聚會活動便多了一個空間可以靈活使用，讓事工可以有更大的擴展。請大家為裝修工程的進度和安全禱告。亦因為裝修的緣故，原定的逾越節晚餐將延至2026年舉行。而此期間的活動，將會受到限制或甚至暫停，希望大家多加包容及忍耐。

經與執事會多次磋商，並得到執事同意承擔更多的行政事務，牧師將放下這些繁雜的事務，而專心在牧養、教導和講道上；也將會花多些時間與各部門和執事溝通。未來，牧師會主動邀約個別會眾和事奉人員交通，盼望屆時你不會推拒牧師，讓牧師難過。說來慚愧，到現在牧師仍未能記熟180多位會眾的名字。如我在主日跟你打招呼，叫錯或不記得你的名字，請多多包涵，也請不厭其煩地告訴我你的名字。最好是你主動約牧師交通，牧師一定不會推辭，且牧師一定能於交通後記得你的名字。

Dear brothers and sisters,

Three months into 2025, I occasionally hear members express confusion about the connection between this year's church theme and last year's. I would like to patiently reiterate that last year's theme, “Walking with Jesus, Living Out the Truth,” was meant to help build the congregation’s spiritual lives upon the solid rock of God’s truth and to live it out through His strength. Bethel sought to support this goal by promoting prayer partnerships, prayer meetings, and Sunday School, helping members establish a solid foundation in Bible reading and prayer. This year’s theme is “Abide in Christ, Renew in Life.” Building upon the foundation of truth, I hope that the congregation will continue to develop strong spiritual lives. Through the pulpit preaching from the Gospel of John, I hope to inspire deeper spiritual pursuit. Additionally, by using the Bible Reading and Prayer Journal, my goal is to help members develop a consistent life of scripture reading and prayer. At the same time, Bethel prays that, through active participation in various ministries and activities, members will experience the joy and strength of being connected and serving with the Lord. I firmly believe that our lives and ministries are never carried out alone, for we have Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and fellow brothers and sisters working and walking alongside us. This year, our focus will be on “Abide in Christ.” Next year, I plan to expand this focus to emphasize connection with fellow believers—so that we may become one body, united under Christ, our head. As for Bethel’s specific goals this year, I keep hoping for a 10% increase in both attendance and offerings. I believe that if we stay closely connected with the Lord, we will surely bear much fruit for Him.

We are also glad to welcome Pastor Grace Kan, who began serving with us part-time from April 2 as the Children and Family Ministry (CFM) Pastor. As her title suggests, she will primarily focus on ministry to children and families. We hope the congregation will give her encouragement and support, so that she may quickly settle into the ministry at Bethel. Please also keep her in your prayers, so that the children and family ministries will thrive. Another piece of good news—which may also bring some temporary inconvenience — is that the kitchen renovation project will begin on April 21, with a target completion by mid-June. Once completed, it will provide an additional flexible space for gatherings and ministries to expand. Please pray for the progress and safety of this renovation. Due to the renovation, the originally planned Passover Dinner will be postponed to 2026. Activities during this period may be limited or even temporarily suspended, and we ask for everyone’s understanding and patience.

After multiple discussions with the Board of Deacons, and with their agreement to take on more administrative responsibilities, I will hand over these burdensome tasks and focus more on pastoral care, teaching, and preaching, as well as spending more time communicating with ministry teams, department leaders and deacons. Moving forward, I will also proactively reach out to individuals in the congregation and Department leaders for fellowship. When that happens, I hope you won’t turn down my invitation — don’t make me sad! Embarrassingly, I still haven't memorized the names of all 180+ members. If I greet you on Sunday but get your name wrong or forget it, please be forgiving — and feel free to kindly repeat your name. Even better, you can initiate a time to meet with me. I will never decline and promise to remember your name after spending time with you.
