Dear Brothers & Sisters,

As we dive into 2025, Bethel is committed to walking alongside each of you to abide in Christ; and renewal in Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ once said in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” This implies Christians must make efforts to gather together even though we may not feel like it. Meeting together is not about whether we feel like it or not. It is never an option for followers of Jesus Christ to meet only if we have time to participate in church life as a community. We understand that church life together sometimes makes us very uncomfortable. 1) We risk letting people know too much about our personal lives resulting in judgment. 2) We might expose our sinful nature when we spend time together. 3) We might come across certain individuals we don’t like very much because of their imperfections. Why would anyone in their right mind want to take such risks? Hebrews 10:24-25 has one of the many reasons, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” In other words, our gatherings are one way to help each other become blind spotters and pinpoint old nature that is still within us, so that we may humbly encourage one another to replace them with our new nature in Jesus Christ! Our gatherings in the name of Jesus Christ are where God works most powerfully in shaping and recreating us! Unless we are willing to submit to the work of Jesus Christ; where else can we practice a new way to become a new humanity that is safe and with like-minded people called by Jesus Christ?

This year we have established various ministries for disciple-making purposes. Unless each member of the church commits to prioritize church life, disciple-making will not happen. Life is busy and there are many things we all need to do. Without intentionally blocking some slots in our schedules, there will always be something that will take over those time slots. To abide in Christ is to continuously remain in Jesus. The picture of a branch being connected with the vine is a clear indication that our walk with Jesus should not be only on Sundays. To be renewed and be born again in Jesus Christ is to become God-centered rather than having God revolving around our schedules every single day. Colossians 3:15-16 says, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Everything that we have should be dedicated to God first and then work with what we have after. This is a spiritual practice we all must learn to do together and do it well. Our visible gathering is a sign for the rest of the world to witness and experience God’s goodness.

Of course, we are not expecting everyone to attend all meetings. Ministries are established to meet the needs of people. The diversity of those ministries is intentionally designed to help different individuals with different needs connect in church life regularly. Since the church is the body and Christ is the head, we believe God can also reveal to you what our church needs. The leadership team needs your feedback and observation to help with the discernment process of how we can best serve. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” If there is something God has put into your heart, please do not hesitate to talk with the pastoral team. We as the pastoral team would love to pray and walk alongside you and see how we can empower more people to serve. 當我們進入2025年，頌主堂致力於推動你們每個人與主結連，生命更新。我們的主耶穌基督曾經在馬太福音18:20說：「因為無論在那裡，有兩三個人奉我的名聚會，那裡就有我在他們中間」。這表示基督徒必須努力聚集在一起，即使我們可能感覺沒有需要。事實上，聚在一起並不在乎我們是否有這需要感覺。耶穌基督的門徒不是在有時間才參與教會生活。我們明白，一起的教會生活有時會讓我們感到非常不舒服。1）我們冒著讓人們瞭解我們個人生活而導致評判的風險。2）當我們花時間在一起時，我們可能會暴露我們的罪性。3）我們可能會遇到某些我們不太喜歡的人，因為他們不完美。任何正常的人都願意冒這樣的風險嗎？希伯來書10:24-25告訴我們，「又要彼此相顧，激發愛心，勉勵行善。你們不可停止聚會，好像那些停止慣了的人，倒要彼此勸勉，既知道（原文是看見）那日子臨近，就更當如此。」 換句話說，聚會讓我們成為觀察者點出彼此的盲點，並內在舊本性的一種方式，這樣我們就可以謙卑地鼓勵彼此用我們在耶穌基督裡的新本性來取代它們！我們奉耶穌基督的名舉行的聚會，是神最有力地塑造和重新創造我們的地方！除非我們願意順服耶穌基督的工作；我們還能在哪裡實踐一種新的方式，成為一個新人，這個人是安全的，並與耶穌基督呼召的同道人在一起？

今年，我們建立了各種事工造就門徒。除非教會的每個成員都承諾優先考慮教會生活，否則門徒訓練就不會發生。生活很忙碌，我們都需要做很多事情。如果我們不在日程中劃出一些時段，就會有另一些東西佔據這些時段。與主結連就是持續在耶穌里。樹枝與葡萄樹相連的畫面清楚地表明，我們與耶穌同行不應該只在星期天。在耶穌基督裡得到更新和重生就是以上帝為中心，而不是讓上帝每天圍繞我們的日程安排。歌羅西書3:15-16說：「要叫基督的平安在你們心裡作主；你們也為此蒙召，歸為一體；且要存感謝的心。當用各樣的智慧，把基督的道理豐豐富富的存在心裡，（或作：當把基督的道理豐豐富富的存在心裡，以各樣的智慧），用詩章、頌詞、靈歌，彼此教導，互相勸戒，心被恩感，歌頌神。」我們所擁有的都應該首先獻給上帝，然後才能利用我們之後所擁有的。 這是一項我們都必須學會一起做並做好的靈修。我們可見的聚會是給世界見證和體驗上帝良善的標誌。

當然，我們並不是說每個人都要參加所有聚會。事工是為了滿足人們的需要。這些事工的多樣性是有意為之而設計的，以説明具有不同需求的不同個體在教會生活中定期聯繫。既然教會是肢體，基督是頭，我們相信神也能向你啟示我們教會需要什麼。領導團隊需要您的反饋和觀察，以幫助我們明辨如何才能最好地服事。傳道書 3:1 說：「凡事都有定期，天下萬務都有定時。」如果神有什麼意象放在你心裡的，請不要猶豫，與教牧團隊交談。作為教牧團隊，我們很樂意為您祈禱並與您同行，看看我們如何賦予更多人力量來服事。如果您有任何問題或疑慮，請隨時與其中一位牧者聯繫。
