  1. Theme 2024: "Walk with Jesus with actions and in truth"
    Theme verse: "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)
    Sub-theme for Spring (Apr-Jun): "Walk with Jesus, live out hope"
    Sub-theme verse: "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." (Psalm 42:5)
  2. Cantonese Prayer Meeting will be held at 11:45 am after CM Service in the sanctuary focusing on caring ministry. Welcome all to join and pray for the church and let us be a prayer-driven church.
  3. After discussion by the Board and the pastoral staff, effective June 2, 2024 (Sunday), Bethel's Sunday worship service and Sunday School time as follows:
    • Sunday Worship Service (Mandarin) 9:00 AM
    • Sunday Worship Service (Cantonese) 10:30 AM
    • Sunday Worship Service (English) 10:30 AM

  4. Newcomers Reception in 2024 will be held on May 26, 2024 (Sunday) after the Cantonese/English Worship. Cantonese prayer meeting will combine with the reception.
  5. This year's Church Picnic will be held on July 14 (Sunday), at the Riverfront Park. Fees are: adult: $15; children(4-12): $7; children under 4: free. Registration will start on June 16.
  6. The financial year will end at the end of this month. All department heads are requested to submit the expenditures for this fiscal year to the Finance Department on or before May 31. Thank you for your cooperation! If you have any questions, please contact Wallace So.
  7. Cantonese Sunday School will start at June 9. Rev. Woo and Mrs. Woo will teach 1 class respectively. For details and registration please go to the office front desk.
  8. Mandarin Ministry Leaders Retreat will hold in Whistler on June 2-4 (Sunday afternoon to Tuesday). To build and grow is Retreat’s focus. Please pray for the retreat. For more information, please contact Pastor Yuen.
  9. Starting June, English Prayer Meeting will be rescheduled to the 3rd Sunday of every month in the basement. We welcome and encourage brothers and sisters to join and pray together.
  10. English Baptism Class will be offered every Wednesday night July 3 - August 21, 2024, for 8 sessions on Zoom from 7 pm - 8:30 pm. Please sign up with Pastor Peter.
  11. EM Summer Retreat: We're thrilled to announce that our EM Summer Retreat is just around the corner! This year, we are gearing up for an unforgettable experience filled with spiritual growth, fellowship bonding, and renewal! Retreat Date: July 26 to July 28, 2024 (Fri to Sun) Location: Farm stay in Agassiz, BC Full Retreat (3 days 2 night) Age 4 and up cost $250. Age 3 & Younger cost $125 if you cannot stay over night, you are welcome to join during the day. For day Daytime only $50 per day for Age 4 and up. 25 per day for Age 4 and under Subsidy (Optional): Participants may apply for subsidy. Subsidy will cover up to 50% of the cost. Deadline for applying for a subsidy is May 19, 2024. Part-time participants will not be eligible for subsidy. If you wish to join, please contact your fellowship leaders or Pastor Peter to obtain more information.
  12. May 20 (Mon) is Victoria Day. Church office will be closed.
  13. Pastor Peter Chong will be off on May 22 and 23 lieu of April 27 and May 11.
